Great Southern offers a benefits package that covers everything from physical to financial planning and retirement. Our providers bring competitive and quality benefits to our employees.
Great Southern offers full-time employees’ medical coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi. Deductibles and co-pays are affordable for those that use In-Network providers. There is a sixty-day waiting period.
Great Southern offers full-time employees dental coverage through Met Life. Basic and major dental procedures are covered, as well as diagnostic and preventive services.
The 401-K plan is available to both full and part-time employees. Pre-tax salary contributions will be matched at 100% up to 4% of gross salary with no vesting schedule. Multiple investment choices are available.
The Employee Stock Ownership Plan is a defined contribution plan or a form of retirement plan. After the completion of one year of service, an ESOP can provide employees with stock ownership. ESOP shares are allocated to employees and held in a trust until retirement or termination.
Great Southern Bank provides basic life insurance coverage that is equivalent to 1 ½ times the annual salary for full-time employees. This life insurance is provided at no cost to the employee and has a 90-day waiting period. Accidental Death and Dismemberment are also provided.
Long Term Disability
A disability benefit of 60% of annual compensation is provided for employees that become disabled and are off work for 90 days or longer.
Reimbursement Accounts (Cafeteria Plan)
Great Southern Bank offers reimbursement accounts that will allow the cost of medical, dental, and vision expenses not covered by medical/dental plans to be reimbursed with “no-tax” dollars. This also applies to dependent daycare expenses.
Family Medical Leave
Up to 12 weeks (26 weeks for a military caregiver) during a 12-month period. The leave may be paid, unpaid, or a combination thereof and may consist of sick, vacation, or any other leave time available.
Great Southern offers other benefits. For example, federal holidays, vacation time, sick pay, supplemental insurance through pre-tax dollars, free checking accounts, and free personalized checks.
